It's important to get an objective review of operational practices and procedures to identify potential issues and improve safety outcomes for employees and the public. AEGIS works to conduct risk assessments for each member's operations every three years.
Our Risk Assessments are conducted by our senior Loss Control staff and typically take place over three days on site. During this time, we meet with key support, engineering and operational personnel, review reported claims and practices and delve into policies and programs.
- Natural Gas Risk Assessments encompass ongoing monitoring, damage prevention, odorization, system inspections, call center practices and public safety awareness programs.
- Electric Risk Assessments focus on design standards, system inspections, vegetation management, dams, joint pole use practices, wildfire mitigation, emergency call handling and public safety awareness programs.
- Water Risk Assessments include evaluations of water distribution and treatment, damage prevention, leak detection, regulatory compliance, water loss control and public safety awareness programs.
- Call Center Assessments focus on the utility’s procedures and practices for handling both routine and emergency calls.
