Excess Liability

The AEGIS excess liability form is specifically designed to meet the needs of the energy and utility industry.

Click here to log in and view sample policies and endorsements below.

AEGIS will be adding a PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) endorsement to the excess liability policy, providing a $5 million aggregated sublimit, which will provide cover for PFAS liability. The exclusion will only be used in situations where, due to specific account exposure or claim activity, we were not offering the sublimit option, which we don't expect to be very often, if at all. As with all of our products, we will underwrite each risk on its own merit, evaluating the members' exposure and claim history. The AEGIS Underwriting and Loss Control teams look forward to working with you to understand and mitigate the PFAS exposure.

Coverage features:

  • Claims first made/indemnity form
  • Policy attaches excess of a self-insured retention or underlying policy
  • Separate aggregates for pollution and employment practices liability
  • Coverage available for energy-related construction projects
  • Affirmative coverage grants for:

-  Worldwide premises and operations

-  Products/completed operations

-  Wildfire

-  Failure to supply

-  Joint venture

Premium credit program: Members who renew their policies with AEGIS are eligible for premium credits that help lower the long-term cost of risk, which is one of the many benefits that distinguish AEGIS from the commercial insurance market. The credit program includes policies written for individual products as well as the Member Loyalty Credit. The loyalty credit is paid to members who purchase four or five of the following AEGIS products in a given year: Excess Liability, D&O, Property, Renewable Energy, Workers’ Compensation, Cyber, Contingent Outage or Capacity Performance. Loyalty is the cornerstone of our mutual relationship and we are pleased to recognize and reward our members’ loyalty with these programs.
