The highlight of our year is welcoming our Members, their families, and guests to our Annual Policyholders' Conference each summer. Bringing together so many of the brightest minds in the energy industry is not just inspiring; it's a reminder of the critical need for innovative collaboration during a time of unprecedented energy demand amidst an evolving risk landscape.

According to feedback from attendees, this year's Policyholder Conference delivered. From regulatory insight to candid conversations about the opportunities and risks ahead, our Members and guests made the most of every session. A special thank you to our Policyholder Members and their guests who attended, to our presenters and panelists who shared their expertise and insights, and to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make it all happen.

New My AEGIS Enhancement Gives Principal Risk Managers More Control

Managing company contact information is now easier than ever.

Principal Risk Managers can now view, manage, and maintain company contacts directly through the My AEGIS portal using the new My Company Contacts self-service feature. This enhancement provides a centralized location to review company contact information, update communication preferences, manage access requirements, and help ensure critical information remains accurate and up to date.

Through the My Company Contacts report, authorized Principal Risk Managers can:

• Add, update, or deactivate employee contacts
• Manage access to applications, policy information, claims, and risk assessment reports
• Update communication preferences, including AEGIS News and Policyholders' Conference distribution lists
• Review and track contact change requests through an automated request history and notification process
• Export and share contact information as needed

To access the My Company Contacts report, log in to the My AEGIS portal and navigate to the My Directories section on the member dashboard.

Additional self-service enhancements are planned for future releases as AEGIS continues expanding the capabilities of the My AEGIS member portal.

A New Chapter in Claims Leadership: Jeff Schupack to Retire as Chief Claims Officer; Mark Bluestein Named Successor

After an impressive 38-year career at AEGIS, longtime AEGIS Chief Claims Officer Jeff Schupack has announced his retirement from the role effective August 1. Throughout his tenure, Jeff has been a trusted leader, respected colleague, and steadfast advocate for our Members. 

Jeff has been an invaluable member of the AEGIS team, providing sharp insight both internally and to Members. During the stress of a significant claim, many Members found comfort in working with Jeff and his team, confident they'd be treated fairly and receive a prompt, collaborative response, an approach that sets AEGIS apart from insurers who often grow more adversarial as claims become more complex.

While Jeff has transitioned from his role as Chief Claims Officer, we are pleased that he will remain with AEGIS through the end of the year to support a smooth leadership transition and continue sharing his invaluable knowledge and experience.

Effective August 1, Mark Bluestein has assumed the role of Chief Claims Officer. Mark brings 25 years of experience working alongside Jeff and the Claims team, as well as a deep understanding of our Members’ needs and values that guide AEGIS. In his new role, Mark will continue to provide the same high-level exceptional service, responsiveness and partnership that Members have come to expect.

Please join us in congratulating Jeff on his remarkable career and well-earned retirement, thanking him for his many contributions to AEGIS and our Members, and congratulating Mark as he begins his next chapter of leadership within the Claims organization.

2026 Claims Seminar

The AEGIS 2026 Claims Seminar will be held Monday, October 12, through Wednesday, October 14, at the Loews Chicago Hotel.

Claims, risk, and litigation professionals won't want to miss this highly anticipated bi-annual opportunity to gather in person, network with peers, and learn more about important issues facing AEGIS Members in the management and defense of their claims.

In addition to the traditional gas and electric case studies, an impressive group of industry litigators and experts will share their insights on nuclear verdicts and mega settlements, preparing utility cases for today's jurors, and a variety of other topics pertinent to our industry.

Registration is limited to AEGIS Members and their dedicated outside counsel and brokers. Employees of AEGIS Member companies may attend the 2026 Claims Seminar at no cost, reflecting our commitment to providing valuable educational and networking opportunities for our Membership.

The registration fee for all other eligible attendees, including Members' dedicated outside counsel and brokers, will be $800.

2027 Claims Roundtable Schedule and Topics Set

We are pleased to announce the dates and topics of our AEGIS 2027 Claims Roundtables. New this year, attendees can choose whether to participate in person at sessions hosted in our Jersey City office or online via live webinars.

Now in its 38th year, our one-of-a-kind Claims Roundtables focus exclusively on educating and preparing attorneys, claims and loss control professionals, and risk managers in the energy industry.

This three-day hands-on training on the various types of fire protection systems associated with power generation and natural gas midstream operations is geared toward employees responsible for inspection, testing, or maintenance of fire protection systems or for those managing 3rd parties who perform this work.
