Embracing a Data-Driven Approach to Utility Public Safety and Incident Prevention

Wednesday, Jun 07, 2023 | 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm EDT Online

AEGIS Loss Control is pleased to announce its latest webinar, Embracing a Data-Driven Approach to Utility Public Safety and Incident Prevention, on June 7 at 2:00 pm EDT.

Who Should Attend

Individuals responsible for risk management, compliance, public safety awareness, incident claims management, finance, legal, operations, and customer relations would benefit from attending this webinar.

We also welcome anyone interested in learning more about taking a holistic approach to public safety in order to help save lives, reduce injuries, decrease damage claims and claims-related costs, enhance the reputational value of the utility brand, and increase the value of the utility and its services for the community.

What is Covered

This presentation will provide insight into a data-driven approach to utility public safety and compliance, beginning with a high-level overview of the three main initiatives collaboratively developed over the past 46 years to inform industry-leading utility public safety and incident prevention strategies. These initiatives include:

  1. Designing and implementing baseline utility public safety programs.
Identify stakeholder groups, test/adjust utility public safety messages, select communications channels, implement education and outreach programs, and document activities and stakeholders reached.
  2. Evaluating the effectiveness of your public safety awareness programs.
Measure the impact of the baseline programs on stakeholder awareness, perceptions, and behaviors (including key message retention, channel and format preferences, and utility satisfaction); identify areas for improvement; and enhance future program components.
  3. Analyzing utility public safety claims and incident data.
Identify areas and activities of greatest concern; explore utility/service territory-specific key risk indicators; measure the impact of public safety awareness programs; monitor trends in incidents, injuries, and related costs; and develop recommendations to mitigate unwanted outcomes.

During this presentation, we will also introduce and discuss Culver Company’s approach to Utility Public Safety Data Analytics™. This will include a discussion on the value of collecting incident data, reviewing claims information, exploring possible public safety key risk indicators, identifying additional secondary data sources, normalizing and combining data, developing visuals that stimulate engagement, and leveraging both descriptive and predictive analytics to identify patterns in public safety incidents.

The outcomes of this analysis help utility public safety, claims, and loss control leaders make informed public safety investment decisions and develop strategies to mitigate risk.
