Tuesday, Oct 02, 2018 | 1:00pm to 2:00pm Online

Energy storage system batteries are being developed quickly to keep pace with the rapid growth of the energy storage industry.  With this quick development come numerous fire protection concerns, especially the potential for fires in batteries used for utility storage applications.

This webinar will cover the current and developing codes and standards pertaining to loss prevention for energy storage system batteries.

Paul Hayes, the CEO, owner and principal engineer of American Fire Technologies, has more than 30 years of experience managing a special hazard asset protection fire company for the industrial and power markets.  Paul is a graduate of North Carolina State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.  Paul is designated as a Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering and Fire Protection in over 35 States.  He has NFPA code committee and code development experience, as well as knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations, and experience in regulatory agency negotiations.  His knowledge of products includes alarm and detection equipment, specialty devices, and both chemical and water-based suppression systems.  He has provided marketing, sales and engineered solutions for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) component of projects, turbine and utility markets, and project management ranging from individual projects to complex sites for private and utility clients.
