Public Safety Messages - Return on Investment

Wednesday, Mar 07, 2018 | Online

Utilities throughout the country are actively building cultures of safety and awareness in their service territories — and they can prove it to regulators and management with effectiveness metrics and reporting.  This webinar provides participants with the opportunity to evaluate and improve their public safety programs.  This session will provide a maturity model for public safety programs and review the benefits of a robust approach to public safety through a pointed discussion of the following:

  • The definition of public safety and what a utility should consider 'within scope' of its program.
  • Return on investment of public safety efforts.
  • Ways that leading and lagging indicators and effectiveness measurements can drive progress.
  • How an organization's culture can provide a strong indication of the risk it faces.

The webinar will be presented by Darcy Newton, Account Manager, at Culver Company.  With more than a decade of experience in the utility, high-tech, defense, medical and emerging technology industries, Darcy helps utilities drive change and create opportunities for customers across the country.  She leverages her expertise in utility public safety awareness, compliance, risk management, strategic marketing and market research to help a range of departments and leaders successfully raise electric and natural gas public safety awareness to motivate behavior change.  Since joining Culver Company in 2016, she has made presentations on safety, communications and marketing before numerous industry groups, including the Utility Public Safety Alliance.  Darcy earned her BA in Business/English and Marketing at Montana State University-Bozeman.
