Registration is now open for the 2017 AEGIS Policyholders’ Conference, which will be held Monday, July 17 to Thursday, July 20, at the Vancouver Convention Centre, located directly on Vancouver’s beautiful waterfront.
The deadline for conference registration, hotel reservations and requests for tours is Monday, June 26.
Our conference agenda includes the 2017 AEGIS management report and a presentation from Sean Kevelighan, the new Chief Executive Officer of The Insurance Information Institute. The agenda also features Apolo Anton Ohno, the most decorated US Winter Olympian in history, Ernest Moniz, US Secretary of Energy in the Obama administration, and Condoleezza Rice, the 66th US Secretary of State, who was the second woman and the first African-American woman to hold the post.
We will also host a Lunch and Learn session for members and brokers on Tuesday, July 18. The topic will be Lessons Learned from AEGIS Claims and Loss Control. We will share what we’ve learned from helping the energy industry manage and finance its risk for more than 40 years, with a focus on practical tips you can use to help improve the safety and reliability of your operating systems.
AEGIS professionals will be available to meet with members on Monday, July 17 and Tuesday, July 18. To schedule a meeting, please contact your AEGIS underwriter, claims representative or loss control representative.
The AEGIS reception on Wednesday evening will be at the Pipe Shop & Shipbuilders' Square, located on the Vancouver waterfront with beautiful views of the city skyline. Once a working shipyard, more than 450 ships were launched from this site between 1906 and 1992. Chartered AEGIS boats and busses will take us from the Vancouver Convention Centre to Shipbuilders' Square. We hope you’ll join us for an amazing evening of food, drink and entertainment. The highlight of the evening will be a concert by a chart-topping, multi Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter.
The tours on Wednesday and Thursday will take full advantage of the summertime in the Pacific Northwest, including float plane sightseeing, a zodiac thrill ride and Vancouver tours via walking, bicycle or kayaking, as well as tours of the Public Market on Granville Island, the Museum of Anthropology, the Vancouver Aquarium & Science World and Grouse Mountain. Over the past few years, interest in the tours has been stronger than golf, so we’re not hosting a golf tournament this year. Instead, we hope you’ll take advantage of one of the many active outdoor tour options.
Dress for the conference is business casual. The summer months in Vancouver are comfortable, with daytime temperatures in the low-70s, and temperatures at night in the mid-50s. Because many venues are air-conditioned, and the evenings can be cool, especially on the waterfront, you may wish to pack a light sweater or jacket.
Conference registration is complimentary and attendees are invited to bring guests. Brokers must be connected with a current AEGIS member policy written through AEGIS in New Jersey to attend. AEGIS will reimburse one representative from each member company with a current AEGIS policy written through AEGIS in New Jersey for the cost of three nights' lodging at the Pan Pacific Vancouver hotel. Member companies are welcome to send additional representatives to learn more about AEGIS and industry issues. If you have any questions about your eligibility, or would like a fellow risk management employee to receive an invitation, please contact George Keefe by e-mail or by phone at 201.508.2797.
Please register now for the conference, make your hotel reservations and submit your requests for tours. The deadline is Monday, June 26.
With our online registration system, you may access and make changes to your registration at any time up until the deadline, using your email address and PIN-code, provided in the invitation e-mail.
If you have any questions about the conference, please contact Blanca Diaz by e-mail or by phone at 201.508.2717.
We look forward to seeing you, your families and guests in Vancouver for PHC 2017!
