The AEGIS-sponsored Fire Protection Training Class will be held Tuesday, November 10 through Thursday, November 12 at the Liberty Mutual Fire Lab in Wausau, WI.
This class is intended for plant operations, maintenance, environmental health and safety, risk management, and asset managers who are responsible for fire protection systems or mitigation of the property risk hazards at their facilities.
This two-and-a-half-day training course provides AEGIS member company staff with both classroom and hands-on instruction on the various types of fire protection systems associated with electric generating stations or similar types of facilities. In addition to traditional classroom instruction and practical exercises, attendees are encouraged to participate in the hands-on training sessions to gain familiarity with the fire protection equipment that is typically used in the power generation industry. Casual dress is suggested based on the hands-on nature of the training sessions.
The following sessions are included:
- Electric generating assets – fire hazard review
- Flammable/combustible liquids hazards
- Water supplies
- Fire pumps/controllers
- Water based fire extinguishing systems
- Detection & actuation systems
- Fire alarm systems
The registration fee for the two-and-a-half-day training course is $400 for employees of AEGIS member companies, which covers the cost of the course as well as lunch both days. You will be asked to provide your credit card information during the registration process. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted. If you cancel your registration prior to the course, the course fee, minus an administrative fee of $25, will be refunded to your credit card.

Please contact the hotel directly and ask for the AEGIS group rate of $114 per night which includes complimentary wireless access and shuttle service between the Liberty Mutual Fire Lab and the hotel.
