Registration materials for the 2004 AEGIS Policyholders’ Conference , scheduled for Monday, July 26 through Thursday, July 29 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, are in the mail and posted to the AEGIS web site.
This year’s conference program includes two very special guest speakers – Alaska Governor and former chairman of the U.S. Senate Energy Committee, the Honorable Frank H. Murkowski, and Ben Stein, the renowned humorist, Emmy Award-winner, presidential speechwriter, and best-selling author. We’ll also discuss the state of your company, changes in the insurance marketplace, current risk management trends and a number of other topics still in development. In addition, at one of our general sessions, we’ll use electronic voting machines to survey industry practices and help you benchmark your own operations.
Based on the interest many members expressed last year in having more meeting time with the AEGIS staff, we’re offering additional time and meeting space on Monday, July 26. As usual, meeting times will also be available on Tuesday. Contact your AEGIS underwriting representative to arrange a convenient day and time.
Conference registration is complimentary and attendees are invited to bring guests. As with past conferences, AEGIS will reimburse one representative from each member company for the cost of three nights' lodging at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego . Brokers must be attached to a current AEGIS member policy in order to attend.
Please mark your calendars and plan on joining us at The 2004 AEGIS Claims Seminar , which will be held October 18 to October 20, 2004 at the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas .
As in prior years, we’ll cover both gas and electric case studies, as well as other issues, such as punitive damages, which are germane to claims professionals and litigators for the utility industry. The seminar will be eligible for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. Registration materials and additional agenda details will be distributed in early August.
This year’s third roundtable topic, “ Managing Litigation and Trial Tactics ,” will be presented again in Boston on June 3. Our panel of inhouse attorneys and outside counsel will discuss ways to minimize the risk of big-hit verdicts, reduce internal and external costs, maximize the chances for a successful outcome, and build effective working relationships with AEGIS excess insurance counsel.
As always, you're welcome to attend roundtables in person or by videoconference, and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits are offered. For more information or to register online, please refer to the 2004 roundtable brochure posted on the AEGIS website.
