Michael Durning joins AEGIS as VP - Property Business Development

I am pleased to announce that Michael Durning will join AEGIS on February 2 as Vice President, Property Business Development. Many of you know Michael from the time he managed our initial property alliance with Hartford Steam Boiler, through his days as head of underwriting for NEIL and, most recently, as an energy property specialist with Marsh.

Michael will focus on opportunities to leverage the capacities of the AEGIS property facilities in Jersey City and London to the advantage of our members. He’ll also be part of the team that continually reevaluates and redesigns our product offerings so that they meet your evolving needs.

Please join me in welcoming Michael to AEGIS. We know you’ll enjoy working with him.

Policyholders' Conference - Save the Date for San Diego

Please mark your calendars now for the 2004 AEGIS Policyholders’ Conference , which is scheduled for Tuesday, July 27 through Thursday, July 29 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.

Our annual conference is an important opportunity to share your needs, concerns and suggestions with us. More information will be posted to www.aegislink.com as it becomes available and complete conference registration materials will be sent in early May.

Conference registration is complimentary and attendees are invited to bring guests. As with past conferences, AEGIS will reimburse one representative from each member company for the cost of three nights lodging at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. Brokers must be attached to a current AEGIS member policy in order to attend.

Gas Operator Training Update

In August of 2003, the ASME Standards Committee began developing a consensus training standard for the natural gas industry. There’s been considerable debate and confusion, and some changes have been proposed regarding the training required of those individuals responsible for maintaining the gas delivery system.

We expect that the consensus training standards and protocols will be finalized by the second quarter of 2004, however, the AEGIS Gas Operator Training Programs are broad enough that they comply with both existing and emerging training standards. AEGIS offers both “train the trainer” and customized on-site sessions to meet your specific needs.
