A number of industry members recently attended The Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS) meeting in Baltimore to discuss public safety awareness programs and the American Petroleum Institute's (API) Recommended Practice (RP) 1162. Highlights included:
- Compliance with the public education requirements of the Pipeline Safety Improvement Act (PSIA) of 2002
- Incorporation of all or part of RP 1162 into current OPS pipeline safety regulations
- Implementation of American Petroleum Institute's RP 1162, Public Awareness Programs for Pipeline Operators
