2003 Policyholders' Conference is moving from Vancouver to Boston

As you know, we get together each year at our policyholders’ conference to report on our financial results, discuss important issues and meet both individually and collectively. We also bring topical experts and keynote speakers to provide you with other information that we hope you find helpful. Over the years, the conference has become one of the most meaningful elements of our collaboration. We’ve tried to hold them in a variety of desirable locations so you and your families can enjoy the attractions of each region. We also organize interesting tours to experience the city and its people. That’s why we selected Vancouver, one of the most desirable locations, for this year’s conference.

But because of the uncertainty surrounding SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) we believe you might have concerns about going to Vancouver before the epidemic has run its course. We understand that some member companies have adopted or are considering policies that prohibit travel to Canada until the crisis is over. Accordingly, we’ve decided to postpone going to Vancouver this year. In its place, we will move the location of this year’s conference to the Boston area on the same days, July 29th to 31st. We know we can expect the same meaningful interaction with you in our meetings and the historic Boston area, with its numerous attractions and proximity to other New England locations and coastal areas, has always been high on your list of desired conference venues. You may recall our highly rated conference in Boston six years ago.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this change of venue may cause. We might be overcautious but we believe this course to be a prudent one given the uncertain nature of this disease. We look forward to seeing you in Boston.

Registration materials will be distributed in a few weeks. Conference registration is complimentary and attendees are invited to bring guests. As with past conferences, AEGIS will reimburse one representative from each member company for the cost of three nights’ lodging. Brokers must be attached to a current AEGIS member policy in order to attend.
