Recommended Practices for Combustible Dust/Coal Handling Areas
Wednesday, May 3, 2017 - Thursday, May 4, 2017 | 1:00pm to 2:00pm Online

Regardless of how many preventive measures are taken to mitigate combustible dust in coal-fired power plants, fugitive coal dust is pervasive and can be dangerous.

This webinar will cover risk mitigation strategies that can help minimize the exposure and ensure compliance with current regulations.  It will explore industry recommended/better practices, identify sources for legal and other requirements, and explain how “climate” rather than “culture” plays a role in mitigating the risks associated with combustible coal dust.

The webinar will be presented by Bob Taylor, President and Founder of CoalSAFETY, Inc., a company that’s active worldwide in the safe handling of coal.  Bob has more than 30 years of experience in the electric power industry.  His extensive background includes fire protection, safety & occupational health, management systems, coal, combustible dust, education/training, and physical security.  Bob serves as Past Chairman and Secretary - Board of Directors of the PRB Coal Users’ Group and on the Executive Committee for the Asian Sub-Bituminous Coal Users’ Group.  He also is a principal member of National Fire Protection Association’s Technical Committees focused on combustible dust and electric generating plants.
