Surviving The Wires Environment
An educational video on the dangers of power lines in the low level flight environment, provided by Southern California Edison. The rapid proliferation of towers, wires and turbines is creating new hazards and issues for pilots operating below 1,000 feet.
According to the AOPA Air Safety Foundation, a wire strike occurs once a week in the U.S., often resulting in a fatality.
