Extended Power Outage

The AEGIS Extended Power Outage policy (EXPO) provides insurance on a stated indemnity amount basis in the event of a long-term unplanned power generation outage.

Scope of coverage is based on a daily or monthly indemnity amount per generating unit subject to a specified waiting period deductible expressed in number of days.

Indemnification period can be extended up to 365 days after policy expiration as long as the outage occurs within the original policy period.

Coverage is not limited to named perils. All risk coverage applies if member must physically disconnect from the grid (single trigger) as a result of direct physical loss or damage. In some instances, subject to specific criteria and evaluation, coverage can be based on ANSI/IEEE definitions.

Insurance applies to the generation assets (single unit, selected plants or the entire system).

Seasonal, monthly or annual terms.

Limits are expressed on a per event and annual aggregate basis.

Benefit of coverage is for unplanned outages of long duration that threaten the reliability of the system and the financial impact that results from a long-term event.
