Location: Webinar

Whenever gas piping is installed, repaired, or extended, it must be purged. The rules and best practices for purging gas lines are often misunderstood, even by those conducting the work. This lack of knowledge has resulted in gas fires and explosions that have led to fatalities, severe bodily injury and substantial financial loss.

In light of recent incidents, the U.S. Chemical Safety Board made emergency recommendations regarding natural gas purging. On August 5, the NFPA Standards council gave final approval to an emergency code change known as a Tentative Interim Amendment, that will prohibit indoor purging of industrial gas lines operating at greater than two pounds per square inch (psig) or meeting certain pipe size criteria. The new requirements require outdoor purging for industrial, large commercial, and large multifamily buildings.

This webinar, Purging Natural Gas Lines - Issues and Solutions, scheduled for Thursday, October 14, features Joe Puskar, President of CEC Combustion Services Group, who will discuss how to stay ahead of the curve and get vital safety information into the hands of those in the field. He will clear up common misconceptions and provide the insight needed to make sure this work is done safely.

The webinar is scheduled from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm, Eastern Daylight Time on Thursday, October 14. One week prior to the webinar, registered attendees will receive instructions for participating. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Hatice Aci at 201.508.2737 or by e-mail.
