Tour Details

On Wednesday, the morning and afternoon tours are open to guests and families only. Conference attendees are scheduled for the general session in the morning and the breakout sessions in the afternoon. Likewise, on Thursday morning, the tours are open to guests and families only. Conference attendees are welcome to join their guests and families on the Thursday afternoon tours.

Capacity on the tours is limited and space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Morning Tours

Discover Denver
8:15 am – 12:15 pm

Experience two sides of Denver – historic western town and thriving modern city – all on the same tour. This tour is a "must do" for first-timers to the Mile High City. You will tour the Golden Dome of the Denver Capital Building, which includes an observation area with a 360-degree panoramic view of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains. The tour will also stop at two of Denver's parks and point out the Molly Brown house, the U.S. Mint, the Denver Center for Performing Arts and The Denver Art Museum. You will also see Denver's famous sports complexes and the hip lower downtown or "LoDo" district. Boxed breakfast will be provided.

Shopping and Strolling in Boulder
9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Spend a casual half-day in beautiful and eclectic Boulder, where shops are endless and the surroundings are relaxing and entertaining. You will be dropped off at the famous Pearl Street Mall, a four-block outdoor pedestrian mall, home to a diverse mix of restaurants, galleries, cart vendors and tarot card readers – just to name a few. Pearl Street Mall is what Boulder is all about. Boxed lunch will be provided.

Hiking in the Rocky Mountain Foothills
8:15 am – 12:15 pm

Put on your comfortable walking shoes and hike along the trails of Boulder Open Space located in the picturesque foothills of the Rocky Mountains. This two-hour hike will have groups for both active and leisure walkers. You will be led by professional and experienced guides who will share their rich knowledge of local plant life, ecology, history and folklore. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the fresh Rocky Mountain air and take some amazing pictures. Boxed breakfast will be provided.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre & Park plus Coors Brewery
9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Park is a breathtaking 70-million-year-old wonderland of soaring oxblood- and cinnamon-colored sandstone spires. It is the world's only naturally occurring amphitheatre and hosts more than 350,000 concertgoers each year. Red Rocks also offers incredible views of the city and a Performers Hall of Fame display. Continue from Red Rocks to a family-friendly tour of the Coors Brewery, where America's finest quality beers have been produced for more than 120 years.


Afternoon Tours

Intermediate Colorado River Rafting
Thursday only, 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Whitewater rafting is the quintessential summer activity in Colorado. Enjoy an exhilarating plunge down the Colorado River and test your skills against Mother Nature. The Class III and IV rapids will thrill rafters throughout the run. Surge over Nomad, power through the Phoenix Holes and take on the Class IV Outer Limits. Good physical condition and the ability to swim are recommended. Rafters on the intermediate tour must be 15 or older. Boxed lunch will be provided.

Beginner Colorado River Rafting
Thursday only, 12:45 pm – 5:15 pm

Enjoy an alpine setting as you ride the waves on the Colorado River. Paddle past an historic waterwheel, drop over Castle Falls, maneuver though Mountain Lion, and then hold on tight for Mr. Twister. Recommended for younger people and inexperienced paddlers, this tour serves up eleven fun-filled rapids and it's the perfect introduction to whitewater. Rafters on the beginner tour must be 7 or older and weigh at least 50 pounds. Boxed lunch will be provided.

Denver Art Museum – King Tut Exhibit
12:45 pm – 5:00 pm

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the King Tut exhibition at the Denver Art Museum. Discover more than 100 striking objects spanning 2,000 years of ancient Egyptian history in Tutankhamen: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs, the exhibition's only stop in the Rocky Mountain West. See breathtaking treasures from Tutankhamen's tomb, including the golden sandals found on his mummy and the largest image of King Tut ever unearthed. Afterwards, you can enjoy the Denver Art Museum at your leisure.
