This one-day meeting is for employees of AEGIS member natural gas utilities. We’ll address what prompted the creation of the new DIMP regulation, the compliance requirements for natural gas distribution utilities, and how to meet them.

In December, the United States Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) amended the Federal Pipeline Safety Regulations to require operators of natural gas distribution pipelines to develop and implement integrity management (IM) programs. Your company’s program must be written and implemented by August 2, 2011. These programs enhance safety by identifying and reducing pipeline integrity risks, and are similar to those required for natural gas transmission pipelines. The distribution program rule reflects differences in and among distribution pipelines. In addition, it requires operators to install excess flow valves on new and replaced residential service lines, subject to feasibility criteria outlined in the rule.

The seminar, continental breakfast and lunch are complimentary; however, attendees are responsible for their own travel and accommodations. To reserve a room in the meeting hotel for the prearranged rate of $129 per night, please contact Carrie White at 201.508.2840 or via e-mail. The hotel room reservation cut-off date is Monday, March 15, although there is no cut-off date to register for the seminar itself.
