Chris Terry
Head of International Casualty

Chris has worked as an underwriter in the London market for 30 years, specialising in casualty within the public and products liability area. In addition, his experience includes professional and financial lines. In 1999, Chris joined AEGIS London and he now heads up the International Casualty Team. Since joining AEGIS London, he has specialised in utility casualty business. Chris is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).

Jeremy Smart
Class Underwriter

Jeremy has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. He was a casualty underwriter specialising in UK and European multinational business at AXA Corporate Solutions. Prior to that, he spent eight years broking Australaisan and Asian Liability business at Sedgwick. In 2002, Jeremy joined AEGIS London. He is responsible for International and North American general liability and energy business.

Paula Mackenzie
Underwriter

Paula graduated from Law in 2001, and started her insurance career handling utility claims for Aon Colombia. Later that year, she was transferred to London and worked on the client and risk-placing side for the Energy Division. After becoming an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), Paula began underwriting casualty for AIG in 2005. Paula joined AEGIS London in 2008, bringing her legal and international expertise to the company.

Stephen Merrick
Assistant Underwriter

Having started his career in 2003 with PWS as a Claims Broker, Stephen joined BMS Specialty Risk in 2004 where he progressed to placing U.S. and Canadian binding authorities with a particular emphasis on general liability business. In 2011, Stephen moved from broking to underwriting, joining the International Casualty team at AEGIS London. Stephen is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).

Abbey Martin
Underwriting Assistant

Abbey joined AEGIS London in 2011 to pursue her career within the London market. She is a member of the International Casualty team and is working across the energy and non-energy classes of business. Abbey is also studying with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
