Richard Palengat, ACII
Class Underwriter
Richard began his career in the Lloyd's market in 1986 with Janson Green. There, in addition to acquiring experience of all areas of the Syndicate's Marine and Energy accounts, he qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He was also a Divisional Director.
He joined AEGIS in December 2000 and is now Head of the Energy E&P team. He is an active member of the Joint Rig Committee.
Chris Benton, Dip CII
Underwriter
Chris joined the Lloyd's broking house of Sedgwick Forbes in 1975. Having spent seven years negotiating and collecting Marine and Energy claims, he moved to the business production area as an Energy Placing Broker. He became a Broking Director of Sedgwick Marine and Energy in 1997 and Senior Vice President of Marsh Marine and Energy in 2000. In 2005, he became a Partner and Senior Broker with Jardine Lloyd Thompson.
Chris joined AEGIS in 2008 as an Offshore Energy Underwriter.
Chris Knowles, ACII
Underwriter
Chris has over 40 years' experience in Marine insurance, all of it in London and much of it in the Company market. His formative years were in the Commercial Union Group where he gained knowledge of all areas of the Marine and Energy accounts and progressed to become the Senior London Underwriter of the Indemnity Marine subsidiary before moving to the Zurich Insurance Group where he was responsible for the E&P portfolio in Global Energy.
Chris has been with AEGIS since 2005 as an Offshore Energy Underwriter.
Huyen Pham
Assistant Underwriter
Huyen joined AEGIS London in 2009 as a Graduate Trainee and is now an Assistant Underwriter on the Energy Exploration and Production team. Prior to joining AEGIS London, Huyen graduated with a degree and masters in Law. She has obtained her Diploma with the Chartered Insurance Institute and is now studying to be an Associate Member (ACII).
Nicola Pettit
Underwriting Assistant
After working for a Lloyd's Coverholder for more than two years, Nicola joined AEGIS London in 2010 to work in the Compliance Department, where she assisted with Delegated Authorities and Audits. In 2012, Nicola joined the Energy Exploration & Production team as an Underwriting Assistant and is studying for her Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma.
